TAE Branches and Leadership Teams
Come and join us!
Any teenager (age between 10 and 19) is welcome to join a TAE branch near them or create a new branch with the support and resources of TAE! A TAE branch is created and named after a local school or community group (e.g., a residential community, an organization, a scout troop).
To join a branch, email the Branch President (by clicking their name above) with your name, school, grade, age, picture, and brief self-introduction. Students from different nearby schools may join the same branch.
If there is no branch for your school/community yet, you may either join the branch of a neighboring school/community or create a new branch. To apply for a new branch, please fill out the Google Form linked at the bottom of this page. Founding a new branch requires 1-3 student founders and a parent advisor. Each branch will be given access to your own website to showcase your team, stories, and activities. Have fun!

TAE Branch Leaders' Roles and Responsibilities:
- Organize branch activities with branch advisor’s pre-approval
- Participate in the TAE-initiated campaigns, if applicable
- e.g., Participate in the 1 Million Batteries (1MB) campaign by:
- (a) collecting batteries in your neighborhood,
(b) setting up battery collection boxes for a later pickup, AND/OR
(c) organizing a battery drive at school (see the step-by-step guide) - Showcasing total battery count, volunteer count, photos, and/or stories on your branch website and the 1MB report page
- (a) collecting batteries in your neighborhood,
- e.g., Participate in the WEEEcycle (E-waste Collection) campaign by using one of the following models (step-by-step tutorial video and slides):
- (a) school-based
(b) community-based, AND/OR
(c) collaboration with cities and other organizations - Showcasing total e-waste recycled, volunteer count, photos, and/or stories on your branch website and the e-waste report page
- (a) school-based
- e.g., Participate in the 1 Million Batteries (1MB) campaign by:
- Promote TAE and/or 1MB by doing at least one of the following per semester:
- Participating in the TAE outreach project
- Posting on social media to promote TAE or 1MB
- Helping other student(s) found new TAE branches to enlarge your impact, e.g.,
- Spread to other schools in your district or other schools represented in your scout troop or community
- Create a second branch as an alumni at your former elementary school to coach younger kids in service
- Writing a blog or article* for the TAE or 1MB website
- Creating a 2-5 minute video* for the TAE YouTube Channel (e.g., showcasing your branch activities)
* Article or video credit will be given to the author(s); contact us to brainstorm on the topic; submissions will be subject to review before publishing
Benefits to TAE Branch Leaders & Members:
- Support and step-by-step resources for you to demonstrate leadership and perform service projects
- TAE awards and certified service hours (for school requirements, honor societies, award/scholarship applications such as PVSA, etc.)
- Ownership of your own branch website and public recognition of your activities
- Lead and join TAE’s international committees
- Rewarding experiences and connections with peers with similar interests and goals

*Siblings, cousins, and/or friends can found a new branch together and extend to new branches later if you attend different schools. Each school/community should have only one TAE branch, but each branch may be composed of students from different schools/communities near each other. Also, alumni can create a new branch for the elementary school they graduated from to train younger students to take over leadership later. Therefore, each student may create 1 to 2 new branches for their current school, current community, and/or former elementary school. |
